Martha's ATTIC, Oxford Street

What can I say about Ivy, an eight-month-old Cavapoo? This little ball of fluff arrived in our home in late January 2022, and we couldn’t believe how quickly she formed an attachment, becoming the family entertainer.

I decided to start a business called Martha’s ATTIC and my husband Paul decided to join me after having retired, so we thought now would be the right time to consider another dog after much encouragement from our granddaughter Martha. Having Ivy has been one of the best decisions we have ever made after losing Bruce, our West Highland Terrier, 10 years ago. We thought we couldn’t love another dog as much as Bruce but Ivy proved us wrong.

She is extremely sociable, intelligent with a fun-loving nature and very adaptable with our lifestyle. One day she is the shop dog and the next day out in the van delivering furniture with Paul. She just wants to be part of what is ever going on, always wanting to be close to you – by that I mean sitting on your feet whilst she has her chew or sitting on your lap for an afternoon nap!

She makes us walk twice a day and endlessly play with her toys. Although having said that, she is fond of the odd slipper or two, Uggs seem to be her favourite and she has also developed the skill of learning how to pick pocket when you have a hidden treat.

We can’t believe the difference she’s made to the next chapter of our lives as she brings so much love, laughter and fun, more than we ever could imagine. I don’t think we could love that ball of fluff anymore she makes our heart sing.
